This week I am heading to New Orleans, city of beignets and jazz, for the American Library Association’s Annual Conference and Exhibition. As we mentioned in our blog post yesterday, this is the largest library conference in the United States, and it moves to a new location each year. This is my first time attending the ALA Annual Conference and also my first time visiting New Orleans, so as you can imagine, I am jumping out of my seat with excitement. I plan to spend a couple of days exploring (or shall I say eating my way through) the city with my husband, and then it’s time to get down to business with the opening session Friday afternoon and exhibits running through Monday afternoon, June 27.
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to represent Fulcrum Publishing at this show, along with my coworker and editor extraordinaire Carolyn. I hope to meet a ton of friendly people, both in the publishing industry and in the library industry as well. I am also very excited to meet Trickster editor Matt Dembicki and two wonderful Trickster contributing artists, Tim Tingle and Michael Thompson. As we mentioned yesterday, Trickster: Native American Tales, A Graphic Collection will be well represented at the ALA show, with four great events! If you’re heading to the Big Easy for ALA this year, here’s the scoop on the Trickster events:
